LADY MONE CAST OFF...
This morning at around 11 a.m., Gilles Michel and his crew left the marina of Lorient in direction of Morocco. After having regulated a certain number of problems which had forced them to return to the port and to give up the first leg of the Transat Classique Lagasse, the crew is back at sea.. The boat is sailing to Lisbon for a first stopover, they should join Agadir in a few weeks.

5AM local time - 6AM in Paris.
Hard night for the organization team! After the arrival of Pazienza and Stiren at the beginning of the night, it's about 5AM local time that Faiaohe announced its approach. The race committee and all the organization team is on the deck to welcome the 3rd boat and then the first one which is about 10 miles behind. Problem, the wind is going down completely approaching the line and the last miles are very hard for the crews dreaming about mint tea. To notice the morocan' great welcoming which will stay in every memories. | |

Pazienza is sailing slowly in direction of the arrival line, in comparation to its faculties. The skipper called the race officer this morning about 9 AM o'clock (french time) to announce teh breakage of its boom. No problem is anounced on board, the situation is perfectly manage by the crew with a advance of about 18 milles on Stiren, the crew hope that it will be sufficient to pass the arrival line in first position...suspens...
The arrival is envisage this afternoon, later if the wind is going slow approaching the coast. | |
